This weekend, about 50,000 runners laced up for the annual New York City Marathon on November 5, 2017, while an estimated 2 million energetic spectators cheered them on. And even though anyone who can pound the pavement for 26.2 miles is pretty much a superstar, there were some otherwise famous faces among the seas of dedicated participants.
The 2017 New York City Marathon turned out the likes of models Karlie Kloss, Candice Huffine, Kevin Hart, and more, while marathons past have put other celebs to the test. And believe it or not, there’s no top-secret shortcut for running a marathon when you’re famous (although personal trainers can’t hurt). The months leading up to the race require the same blood, sweat, and tears to train—and when the day finally arrives, they’ve got to put in just as much effort, too. In fact, some celebrities who’ve run the New York City Marathon weren’t even runners before they took on the challenge.
These 15 celebrity runners have new balance 574 running all made their way through Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan alongside their fellow participants.
